Phonak, the industry leader in the production of hearing aids, became aware of the disparity between the visual representations of its products and their technological performance. The small size of the products makes it challenging to visualize them using standard photographic techniques due to their functionality. Not because of the size in and of itself, but rather because all structures, surfaces, and production-related irregularities were doubled with a typical close-up of the items.

SOLUTION

With a skilful 3D visualization (CGI), it is possible to define various settings of textures, edges, lights according to the desired result in such a way that the final photograph, even in large format, represents the product in a way that it pleases the designers as well as the various marketing requirements of today.

The project, which started with product shots, evolved into a successful and long-term collaboration. It became clear quickly that our 3D visualization options not only met the requirements for the imagery outside of the device, but also for the imagery inside of it. Today we work with Phonak across all marketing and communication channels.

Marvel is the first hearing technology in the world, which allows direct binaural transmission of music, phone calls, video content and more then a billion of Bluetooth-enabled stereo devices to both hearing aids. This multi-functionality we dramatized by a movie with a ride through the hearing aid, showing both hardware and software to the viewer and impressively recalling how a technical object can also evoke emotions. Phonak Marvel was the most successful and award-winning hearing aid launch in the history of Phonak.
